AC44i
The AC44i is a heavy-duty locomotive manufactured in Contagem (MG, Brazil) by GE Transportation, with a 63% local-content index. It is an AC diesel-electric machine delivering 4,500 HP of power on its 195,000 kg.
It is currently the most important locomotive on the Brazilian rail network and is used to transport a wide range of commodities such as sugar, soybeans, iron ore, oil, bauxite and more. They can be seen in heavy operation in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, where products flow to the port of Santos (SP).
